LEE'S SUMMIT, MO (September, 2021) – Billy Goat®, a brand of Briggs & Stratton, is pleased to introduce the new SG1300H Stump Grinder, designed for simple, safe operation capable of efficiently removing a stump from 24-in. above grade to 16- in. below.
The working end of the unit features a heavy duty, 35 lb., 3/8-in. thick, 14-in. diameter fly wheel with eight carbide cutting teeth at the end of a longer, angled down cutter head that can reach below grade. Combined with a 48-in. adjustable handle for maximum stability and control, the unit has better leverage and longer reach than others on the market. The handle is also 1 5/16-in. thick and has a handle pivot running through the frame, offering the strongest handle design in the industry.
For safety, the unit has a rear and two side chip curtains, a dual operator presence system on the upper and lower handlebar, and an emergency shutdown button. The cutter head guard is double welded for added safety, rigidity, and longer life, and the frame is reinforced to prevent cracking.
A handy foot-mount offers leverage for ease of starting up the unit. And while in operation, a locking drum brake keeps the unit in place while sweeping the cutter head back and forth across the stump.
For transport, the machine is well balanced and easy to push to the job site and to maneuver around the stump. When the job is done, the unit is simple to load via ramps onto a pickup truck or trailer.
The SG1300H is powered by a 389 cc GX390, 11.6 gross hp* Honda® engine backed by a three-year limited warranty and also has a one-year Billy Goat limited warranty**. The engine is connected to the cutting head via a long Hi-Power® banded belt that is fully guarded for increased belt life, extended service intervals and safety.
